3B ENG provides water treatment solutions for all type of applications, from small scale mobile equipment to medium and large plants.

Our wide range of technologies and extended know-how in all water-related sectors will guarantee you a cost-efficient solution meeting your water quality requirements.

3B ENG deals daily with clients from various origin: municipalities, water bottlers, hotels and resort requiring safe drinking water for their visitors, farmers needing specific irrigation water for their plants, but also industries like power plants, oil and gas, chemical factories, requiring specific process water for their equipment.

Desalination

Nowadays, desalination has become a very affordable solution to cope with fresh water shortage typically in tropical as well as off-shore areas.

The pretreatment includes all the necessary treatment step ahead of the reverse osmosis plant. It is determining for plant life time and to minimise chemical cleaning and membrane replacement. It has a direct impact on the plant performance.

There are as many membrane types as applications. They range from "high rejection" to "ultra low energy" or " high boron rejection".

The reverse osmosis process can also be built with one or two passes, depending on the product water requirements and the seawater salinity and temperature. In most cases, 1 pass is sufficient to reach the Korea drinking water standards, specially regarding the boron content (1 mg/L). To reach WHO boron guideline (0.5mg/L), a second pass might be necessary (Boron removal process)

The energy recovery device is the key factor that determines the plant electrical costs. It must be chosen carefully based on the local energy costs and environment policies.

Post-treatment and/or polishing steps are required to condition the water after the reverse osmosis membrane process to make it suitable to your application.

Brine disposal can be an environmental and economical issue in some areas where the fauna and flora are sensitive to local seawater salinity increase. Brine disposal should be studied and engineered case by case.

The art of desalination is to determine and combine available technologies to optimize water production costs and quality.

Industrial Water Treatment

Water is an important production factor.

In industry water is required that corresponds with the differing needs of respective processes. The spectrum of industrial water ranges from cooling and boiler feed water in power stations and process water for a wide range of industrial uses to ultra pure water for the electronics and pharmaceutical industries.

We can supply a tailor-made solution for each specific task. We offers an extensive portfolio of treatment processes for the securing of the quantitative and qualitative supply of water to industrial companies, covering virtually every need from conventional processes to high-performance systems (e.g. membrane processes). We attach special value to reliable, low-maintenance systems that offer high economy.

Process

Industry needs water of different qualities for production purposes. The demands with regard to the standard and purity of the water range from simple, low-quality washing water, to pure boiler-feed water for steam production. The public drinking water network can be used as source of raw water, along with ground- and surface water.

3B Eng offers an extensive portfolio of treatment processes for the securing of the quantitative and qualitative supply of water to industrial companies. Flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, membrane filtration, full and partial desalination by softening, reverse osmosis and ion exchange processes, are combined and implemented according to individual requirements.

The availability and integration of these diverse processes, not only facilitates an optimum response to specific situations, but also water recycling in closed cycles, which conserves resources.

3B ENG is designing Filter Plant by combining various facilities including filter.
The Filter Plant constitutes a filter and pretreatment system that suits the water quality of the influent water(surface water) so that the production water can be used as Tap water or Drinking water.

Fiber filter
The patented fiber filter from 3B ENG has a similar operating method to that of commonly used multi-layer filtration(sand, etc.), but it shows much better quality of treated water.
Compared with the membrane process(MF/UF), the treated water quality is slightly lower, but it has various advantages such as low price / small area / high operating convenience.

3B ENG engineers design and build tailor-made reverse osmosis plants.

Our skid-mounted reverse osmosis plants range from tapwater, brackish water to ground water and cover all type of application including drinking water, irrigation water and process water.

In most cases, a RO plant must be preceded by a proper pre-treatment to avoid membrane fouling by sediments, hardness, organic matter, bacteria, silica, metal oxides or even chlorine.

Also, RO permeate water is often more acidic than the feed water due to dissolved carbon dioxide. Common post-treatment are pH neutralisation and remineralisation

Surface Water

Surface water is comprised by water from rivers, reservoirs and lakes, i.e. all the water resources found on the surface of the earth’s landmasses.

Surface water is exposed to various natural and human influences. For this reason, it contains a diversity of dissolved or suspended materials, which are normally found in a variety of differing combinations. For this reason, multi-barrier systems are required, in order to produce high-quality drinking water and permit the problem-free use of treated water for a range of industrial applications.

Following intensive development work, in recent years 3B Eng has introduced numerous innovative processes for surface water treatment including 3B filtration technology and membrane filtration.

Membrane technology is of growing importance for the removal of dissolved organic matter, micro-organisms and suspended solids, as well as drinking water softening and desalination.

Ground Water

Ground Water

Rising levels of groundwater pollution are confronting water utilities with increasing difficulties. The problem of nitrates and pesticides in areas of intensive agricultural activity and the contamination caused by halogenated hydrocarbons from site leachate, make the treatment of natural water reserves essential.

Moreover, apart from these manmade impurities, groundwater may also contain natural substances, which affect drinking water quality.

We offer top processes, ranging from biological denitrification and advanced oxidation, to membrane technologies (MF, UF, NF, RO):

  • Biological denitrification for nitrate removal
  • Removal of organic impurities by use of ozone and advanced oxidation
  • Membrane filtration – Microfiltration, Ultrafiltration, Nanofiltration
  • Reverse osmosis
  • Removal of ammonia, iron, manganese, and arsenic
  • Removal of suspended solids by means of floc-filtration
  • Adsorption of pollutants on activated carbon

Municipal Water Treatment

Our rivers, lakes and vital drinking water reserves are increasingly at risk due to environmental factors. Sufficient protection can only be guaranteed if wastewater is largely decontaminated. Today, technological progress is increasingly broadening the range of possibilities offered by classic environmental protection. The ecological focus is on water protection and the multiple use of wastewater.

3B Eng plants ensure that only clean water is discharged into rivers. In addition, through a combination of innovative treatment processes, we facilitate the reutilization of wastewater for industrial and municipal purposes and thus the conservation of resources.

3B Eng provides a range of optimized solutions extending from water softening to almost total nutrient removal. The key technologies employed include one or two stage activated sludge processes, membrane bioreactor technology and Filtration.

Industrial Wastewater

Industrial wastewater contains a diversity of impurities and therefore for this reason alone, its treatment constitutes a special task. Furthermore, the emission limits for industrial effluent are constantly being tightened up.

The treatment process may contain mechanical, biological and chemical physical process steps.

In the case of biological, anaerobic wastewater treatment we employ conventional processes and space-saving, high-performance reactors. In the case of maximum cleaning requirements (e.g. water reuse) we employ membrane processes with submerged or external membranes. The advantages are considerable savings of liquid resources and practically zero discharge of wastewater.
